Mitsubishi Electric Ductless systems are among the most advanced electric heating and cooling systems on the market today. Efficient, quiet and easy to install, these systems can keep you comfortable without running up your utility bills.

Energy Efficient, Lower Energy Bills

Many Mitsubishi Electric high-efficiency ductless HVAC systems have a SEER of at least 20 and some have a SEER as high as 26. Ductless heat pump systems can run on 25 to 50 percent less energy than forced air or electric resistance. For cooling, ductless systems use around 40 percent less energy than a central air conditioner. Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractors on this site can help you find the right high-efficiency system.

System Types Available

If you're interested in a Mitsubishi Electric ductless system for your home or small business, consider the Mr. Slim line's M-series and P-series products. Other systems are available for larger commercial settings. Most can be used for both heating and cooling. You'll find single-zone and multi-zone outdoor units in both the M-series and P-series.

Fast Installation

One of the greatest benefits of ductless heating and cooling systems is their ease of installation. The job is completed in three steps:

  1. The outdoor unit is installed.
  2. A 3-inch hole is drilled into your wall to run the conduit line. This line contains the refrigerant line and connects the outdoor unit to the indoor unit.
  3. The indoor air handler is mounted on your wall, ceiling or floor.

In most situations, a professional contractor can get the job done in less than a day.

Quiet Operation

Noise levels from the air handler range from 19 dB(A) at low speed to 49 dB(A) at high speed. 19 dB(A) is no louder than a whisper or gentle breeze. Considering the noise level in the average home is at least 45 dB(A), you probably won't even notice when the indoor unit is running.

The Benefits of Going Ductless

Energy efficiency and ease of installation aren't the only advantages that ductless HVAC systems have over standard ducted systems. Mitsubishi Electric HVAC systems also offer benefits such as:

  • Improved temperature control -- A ductless system makes precise temperature control easy because the air handler is right in the room with you. A remote control lets you adjust the temperature or turn the system on and off at the touch of a button.
  • Design flexibility -- Ductless system air handlers can be mounted on your wall, ceiling or floor, giving you far more options for placement and ensuring they'll never create an obstruction.
  • Cleaner air -- Mitsubishi Electric ductless air handlers are equipped with multi-stage filtration systems that trap dust, pollen, mold spores, viruses, and bacteria.

State of the Art Ductless Solutions from Mitsubishi Electric Cooling and Heating

The advanced technology used in Mitsubishi Electric products makes these ductless systems some of the best you can find.

  • SmartCoil -- Using multiple sensors, this technology helps maintain optimal coil and refrigerant temperatures, which in turn helps the system run more efficiently.
  • Hot-Start -- When the system is in heating mode, this feature prevents the air handler from blowing air until the coil has reached the correct temperature. That means no uncomfortable cold drafts.
  • i-See Sensor -- The i-See Sensor scans the room for hot and cold spots and adjusts the system's temperature and airflow to even out the temperatures.

Tax Credits Available for Select Systems

Thanks to the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, you may be eligible to claim a federal tax credit of up to $300 for your new ductless system. This credit is available for select high-efficiency systems installed between Jan. 1, 2012, and Dec. 31, 2013. If you'd like to take advantage of this tax credit, your local Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Contractor will help you select a qualifying system.
